Banana Belt Climate
One Of The Most Beautiful Places On Earth!
Most residents and visitors view the Banana Belt area as a slice of paradise! This green, unspoiled area enjoys better weather than most coastal areas - it is a coastal area with sunshine. Many visitors come to the coast during the winter to enjoy the warmer temperatures and during the summer to escape sweltering heat. Several microclimates are available, ranging from mild along the coast to much warmer inland. On the coast, average temperatures range from 40-55 degrees in winter to 55-70 degrees in summer. Inland temperatures average about 10 degrees warmer in summer. Coastal average annual rainfall is 65-70 inches. Rainfall tends to be large amounts over short periods of time, with extended sunny days throughout the winter. Some summer mornings can be foggy due to the warm weather inland and the cool ocean weather. This usually burns off by mid morning.
